With the move towards lower energy use and 'zero-carbon buildings', air-tightness parameters are becoming more stringent as a mechanism to control heat loss and gain.
This MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) filter was used in a mechanical ventilation system at the Islington offices of Justin Bere Architects. It removed impurities from air brought into the building as part of the overall ventilation strategy. MVHR units are more common in other parts of Europe and not only provide adequate supplies of clean air but also save energy. We will
be seeing more in the UK particularly in the domestic sector.
