The future will be defined by the simple fact that everything is running out. There is only so much metal in the ground, and the way we live now requires that we dig up, use and dispose of exponentially more of it year on year. One day soon, this will catch up with us, leading to a world in which we must be much more careful and creative in our use of resources. More than that we will realise how relative contemporary value is.

Money is no use when what you need is a washer.
